Rémy Rotenier in MJSA Journal Design Challenge
Rotenier was one of twelve designers invited to participate in a competition sponsored by MJSA Journal published by Manufacturing Jewelers and Suppliers of America. The editor of the Journal, Shawna Kulpa, presented a scenario and a spectacular ruby to be provided by the project sponsor Omi Gems in Los Angeles. One designer each month of 2016 will develop a concept, write about their inspiration, and present renderings. Read the scenario and each of the designers' responses at MJSA Journal online.

Great reviews for the Teaching DVDs
Wonderful positive reviews continue to roll in for Rémy's educational videos. This is a example of how happy jewelers are with Rémy's techniques:
When I first ordered Rémy’s DVD on Counter Sketching, I was hoping to just glean a few things. Instead, I was so impressed with the instruction and how he always made it feel possible With the help of his included examples, maps and files I began to think I might be able to learn this. The key is always Rémy. He has created the DVD and showed you how to move through it one step at a time I have ordered the supplies that he suggested and am now spending time practicing each day and feeling like I am making real progress. I am a visual learner and in my 20 years of doing jewelry, I have amassed a large collection of DVD product. All being said, I think Rémy has provided me with the clearest and best instruction I’ve ever had.

Design Inspiration found Everywhere
Like so many designers, Rémy finds inspiration from diverse sources, but his most reliable font of ideas is the natural world. A number of works (including earrings, pendants, and rings) in his current line, Rémy Rotenier for Bella Luce, are inspired by the lotus blossom. The flower springs from the muddy, still waters, yet it blooms with perfect purity.
